FOUNDATION FOR THE PRACTICE OF TRADITIONAL NATUROPATHY
The Healing Power of Nature
Your body possesses the inherent ability to establish, maintain, and restore good health. The traditional naturopath’s role is to facilitate and augment this process, to assist you in removing obstacles to your achievement of good health, and to provide support for your creation of a healthy body, mind and spirit-an energetic equilibrium known as homeostasis.
First Do No Harm
Traditional naturopaths use approaches and remedies that minimize the risk of harmful effects upon you. Traditional naturopaths have a profound respect for and work with the healing power of nature.
Honor the Whole Person
Traditional naturopathy recognizes that health and disease are inextricably linked to a complex of physical, mental, emotional, environmental, genetic, social, and spiritual factors uniquely our own. Everyone is different and traditional naturopaths believe that as individual cases vary, individual remedies may vary as well.
Prevention
Traditional naturopaths emphasize building health, rather than fighting disease. The ultimate goal is prevention and this is accomplished by educating and empowering the client to take personal responsibility for engaging in a lifestyle that is conducive to good health.
TRADITIONAL NATUROPATHS DO NOT:
- Diagnose disease or illness
- Prescribe drugs and pharmaceuticals
- Treat disease or illness
- Perform invasive procedures
